The Hershey Symphony Orchestra invites the community to celebrate the Fourth of July with the 11th annual free concert and fireworks on the lawn of Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center on Monday evening, July 4th.

The orchestra’s performance entitled, “An American Salute” begins at 7:30 p.m., and Hersheypark fireworks can be seen at 10 p.m.  Complimentary water and ice cream will be provided by Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.  Food and drink for purchase will be offered by assorted food trucks.

“It is a holiday tradition for the community to celebrate Independence Day with our concert on the lawn of the Medical Center, it’s a great event for everyone” said Hershey Symphony Orchestra Executive Director Paul Metzger.

The first half of the concert will feature a mixed selection of music including John Williams movie themes from Superman and E.T., music from Downton Abbey, a Mamma Mia medley and other POP and Rock classics featuring Hershey Symphony vocalists.  For the second half of the concert, the Orchestra will present “A Salute to America” with favorite patriotic selections and a tribute to the men and women that keep America safe.

The concert is sponsored by Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey Lodge, Sutliff Chevrolet and Hershey Symphony Orchestra. Parking is free and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. A freewill offering will be taken to benefit the Orchestra.
