Sights & Sounds of Christmas – A Hershey Celebration

The Hershey Community Chorus and The Hershey Figure Skating Club announce the addition of The Hershey Symphony Orchestra and The Hershey Symphony Big Band to their spectacular Christmas collaboration, The Sights and Sounds of Christmas – A Hershey Celebration to be held on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm, December 16, 2012, in The Hershey Park Arena.  2011 US Figure Skating Champion Gold-Medalist, Ryan Bradley, will entertain the audience with his unique style of showmanship.  The familiar Christmas arrangements of Fred Waring, one of Hershey’s most popular and loved entertainers in Hershey from 1950 to the early 1980’s will be featured in this Christmas program.

The students of The Hershey School of Dance will be featured in this program having recently appeared with The Hershey Community Chorus in its spring concert this past April.  Along with the Skaters, the Symphony and the Chorus, they will open the program with selections from Tchaikovsky’s beloved Nutcracker Suite which is given a twist with charming lyrics written by Harry Simeone, Jay Johnson, Frank Cunkle, Daisy Bernier and Fred Waring.  Santa Claus and his sleigh will be skating into Hershey to entertain the children of all ages in the audience.  A meet and greet reception is planned from 4:00 pm to 6:00 following the program in the old Ice Palace.

Tickets will be available in the beginning of October with the admission price for adults $12.00 and children and students 6 – 12 years of age $6.00.  Children 5 and under will be free, accompanied by a parent or guardian.  There will be an additional charge to attend the reception to meet the performers and a limited number of tickets will be made available.  Reservations for tickets can be made now by calling or emailing the Chorus or contacting members of The Hershey Figure Skating Club.  A sellout performance is expected.
