The Hershey Symphony Orchestra Presents a George Gershwin Anniversary Tribute
HERSHEY, PA – The HSO continues its 2006-07 Concert Season on Saturday, February 24, 2007, 7:00 p.m., at the Hershey Theatre with a George Gershwin Anniversary Tribute. The Hershey Symphony Orchestra will pay tribute to Gershwin with their presentation of ‘We’ve Got Rhythm.’ Gershwin favorites including An American in Paris and Cuban Overture will be performed by the Symphony. The Hershey Big Band will join the symphony for this concert. This special tribute is sponsored by the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and supported by the Hershey Rotary.
Tickets can be purchased by calling the box office at 717-533-8449. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, $5 for students. Children 12 and under are admitted for free.
The HSO’s 2006-07 classical season will conclude on April 28, 2007, 8:00 p.m. at the Hershey Theatre with ‘The Trumpets Shall Sound’ featuring world-renown trumpet virtuoso Allen Vizzutti. This performance will also feature outstanding trumpet students from throughout Central Pennsylvania who will join the orchestra during the Triumphal March from Verdi's Aida. The Hershey Festival Strings will also take the stage.
The Hershey Symphony has become an integral part of the Central Pennsylvania community and its quality of life. For more nearly 40 years the Symphony has entertained music lovers throughout Central Pennsylvania with classical, romantic, baroque, contemporary, symphonic and Broadway favorites. Comprised of outstanding local musicians, the Hershey Symphony Orchestra is one of the largest volunteer community orchestras in the nation.
