Hershey Symphony Orchestra Announces

April 3, 2007 (Hershey, PA) - The Hershey Symphony Orchestra held its seventh annual Young Artist Competition on Wednesday, March 28th at Elizabethtown College.  Among the finalists were six talented musicians.  Nicole Sauder, violinist, was selected at the Hershey Symphony�s 2007-08 Young Artist Competition Winner.  Sauder performed Lalo�s Symphonie Espagnole.

Nicole, 15 years old, is a tenth grader at JP McCaskey High School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  She studies with Michael Jamanis of Lancaster, and Lee Snyder of Philadelphia.  Sauder was awarded $1,000 made possible by Charles Turner of Turner Associates of Hershey, PA.  Nicole Sauder will be featured in the HSO�s 2008-09 concert season.

For over 35 years, the Symphony has entertained music lovers throughout Central Pennsylvania with classical, romantic, baroque, contemporary, symphonic and Broadway favorites.  Comprised of outstanding local musicians, the Hershey Symphony Orchestra is one of the largest volunteer community orchestras in the nation.  Orchestra members are your neighbors and friends.  They range from students to retirees and represent a true cross-section of the greater Hershey community.
