HSO Opens its 2008-09 Feel The Excitement Season

HERSHEY, PA - The Hershey Symphony's very own Big Band will launch the Symphony's 2008-09 season "Feel the Excitement" on Friday, September 19, 2008 at 8:00 p.m, Hershey Theatre. Under the direction of the Big Band's Music Director Paul Metzger, the 18-piece big band will bring the greatest swing hits of the 20th century to stage.

"I think one of our main draws is that we don't take ourselves very seriously. Our main concern is entertaining the audience, playing songs that they know and love, not the obscure stuff," says the Music Director Paul Metzger. The band will take the audience through the greatest swing hits of the 20th century, starting with "In the Mood", "Sing, Sing, Sing" and more from the 30s and 40s. Then, they'll visit Frank Sinatra in the 50s and 60s, and end up in the 1990s high energy swing revival of the Brian Setzer orchestra, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Michael Buble. Guest vocalists Eric Cawalla and Jennifer Kinder and swing dancers will also be featured.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens, $5 for students. Children 12 and younger will be admitted free. Please contact the box office at (717) 533-8449 for additional information or visit our website at www.hersheysymphony.org.
