HSO Kicks Off Season with Big Band
HERSHEY SYMPHONY BIG BAND EXTRAVAGANZA TO OPEN SYMPHONY'S 2009-2010 40TH SEASON
HERSHEY, PA - The Hershey Symphony's very own Big Band will launch the Symphony's 2009-10 season on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 8:00 p.m, at the Hershey Theatre with its first-ever All Request Big Band Extravaganza. Under the direction of the Big Band's Music Director Paul Metzger, the popular big band will bring some of their fan's favorite music back to the stage. Every song in the show will be determined by requests that the band will be getting from the general public up to two weeks before the concert. Some already requested works include selections from Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé, Swing, Broadway and the ever-popular World War II era classics. Nothing will be off limits in what promises to be their most exciting and eclectic concert ever! About the Hershey Symphony Big Band
Founded in 2000 as an offshoot of the Hershey Symphony, the Hershey Big Band quickly became one of the area's most entertaining bands. The HSO's Big Band has been featured at most area venues including HersheyPark, the Hotel Hershey, the ChocolateFest Ball, the Hershey Museum, and the Harrisburg Capitol.
The HSO's 2009-2010 season continues a 40th Anniversary Concert "Celebrating the Anniversaries of Hershey, Haydn and More."
