HERSHEY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA ANNOUNCES 2010 YOUNG ARTIST COMPETITION FINALISTS
HERSHEY, PA - The Hershey Symphony Orchestra will host its 2010 young artist competition finals on March 24, 2010, 7:30 p.m., Zug Recital Hall, Elizabethtown College, Elizabethtown, PA. Seven of the area's highly talented young artists will perform live for their chance at being named the Hershey Symphony Orchestra's 2010 Young Artist Winner. The winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship sponsored by Charles Turner of Turner & Associates of Hershey and will also have the chance to be featured as a soloist in the Hershey Symphony's 2010-2011 season. The 2009 Young Artist Winner was Eva Dove of Lebanon on violin.
The community is encouraged to attend this evening of final performances. There is no fee for admission. "There is such incredible talent this year. It is my hope that the community will come and support these fine young musicians," says Young Artist Competition Chair Dr. Michael Rusli.
The following seven finalists will compete on March 24, 2010:

Stephanie Fong of Mechanicsburg on piano
Dawon Suh of Lancaster on violin
Lanjiabao Ge of Lancaster on piano
Alexandria Conrad of Willow Street, PA on violin
William Hume of Carlisle on piano
Lena Goodson of York on Double Bass.
The purpose of the Hershey Symphony Orchestra Society is to foster, promote and increase the musical knowledge and appreciation of the general public and volunteer musicians, by operating and maintaining a symphony orchestra and presenting performances of music.
