Star Wars Characters will be on Hand to Set the Mood

The community is invited to an evening of music guaranteed to spark the imagination and send patrons to outer space. The “Out of this World” concert will be conducted by Dr. Sandra Dackow, music director for the Hershey Symphony Orchestra, on April 20, 2012 at 8 p.m. at The Hershey Theatre.

The audience will be treated to musical selections including Holst’s “The Planets,” as well as Bottesini’s “Grand Duo Concertant” featuring Krista Bennion Feeney on violin and John Feeney on double bass, and Williams’ music from Star Wars. To add to the mood, members of the 501st Legion will join the evening in full Star Wars regalia.  The 501st Legion is an international fan-based organization dedicated to the construction and wearing of screen-accurate replica costumes from the Star Wars universe. Members of the 501st Legion make appearances at casual, promotional, and charitable events. Audience members can meet Star Wars characters, including Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Storm Troopers, Obi Wan Kenobi and Princess Leia. Patrons may also enter a raffle to win a framed autographed print of the Star Wars movie cast.

Audience members are also invited to support a music therapy program for Vinny’s Kids, a local charity that provides toys and other items to pediatric patients at the Penn State Hershey Rehabilitation Hospital and Harrisburg Hospital, as well as to specialized medical summer camps for children with chronic illnesses. Audience members may bring gently used children’s CDs and new stuffed animals for pediatric patients and children attending Camp Victory.

Tickets for the concert are $18.00 for adults, $15.00 for seniors 55 and up, and $10 for students 12 and older. Children 11 and under are admitted free of charge. Tickets may be purchased in person at Hershey Theatre Box Office between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, ordered by phone by calling the Theatre at 717.534.3405 or online at
